Wildwoods’ Polar Plunges Set 2021 Event Dates! Registration Links in Article

UPDATE: SEVERAL PLUNGES HAVE GONE VIRTUAL! No ocean involved. Check registration details

Two of the most popular Wildwood island Polar Plunges have set dates for early 2021, which are a little later this year to maneuver around the global pandemic.

Wildwood’s Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics is set for March 27, 2021

North WIldwood’s Fallen Hero Polar Plunge is set for April 10, 2021

Wildwood Polar Bear Plunge For Special Olympics

The Wildwood Polar Plunge is celebrating their 15th Anniversary, with plungers diving in to the water on March 27th. To register for the event please check their website!

It’s a day of fun and cold… but also the key driver for the day is raising money for Special Olympics!

The plunge takes place at the beach (of course!) at the Wildwood Convention Center… 4501 Boardwalk. This is center of the island, offers a large parking lot.. and very convenient for WIldwood Crest also!

Plunge day schedule starts with check-in beginning at 10am, and the actual plunge is at 1:00pm

Participants are expected to raise $100 towards Special Olympics, and the organizers will be offering incentives for amounts raised (incentives are to-be-determined). Check the website for details.

As of December 29th, the website indicates they have $25,000 pledged towards a goal of $235,000! It’s early still and the later start date should help organizers and plungers blow away this goal!

The schedule indicates lunch and awards ceremony is in the plans, but they have not released details yet.

They have an awesome, professional website.. so to get the most accurate and up-to-date information please like their Facebook pages and check their website.

Fallen Hero Plunge – North Wildwood

The Fallen Hero Plunge is set to take off on April 10, 2021 in North Wildwood! This is the weekend after Easter. You can register at their website!

Organizers have turned this into a multi-day event, with the plunge Saturday morning, a Pre-Party Friday Night at Keenan’s, and a post plunge party back at Keenan’s!

The website says the event is “Dedicated to the Memory of Our Fallen Heros”. A Facebook post from last year clarifies how they used the money raised in 2020.

100 percent of the cover charge at Keenans after the plunge goes to the Fallen Hero polar plunge. It is a huge part of the money we get to give to the Survivors fund . Thank you to Keenan’s for being home base once again. Between the 1250 people who plunged, the sponsors, the auctions, the shirt/ jacket sales, the door charge at Keenan’s Irish Pub – North Wildwood we were able to donate $80,000 to the Survivors fund and another $10,000 to various organizations. Thanks to all who made it possible!! Hope to see everyone next year!! Thoughts and prayers to Corporal O.Connor, his family and friends.
